Originally constructed in 1925, this Italian Renaissance building originally operated at the Park Lane Hotel with a motto of being "the best home address in Toledo!"  The building was designed by Mills, Rhines, Bellman, and Nordhoff to appear very elegant and warm.  During its operation as a hotel, it was the preferred hotel for wealthy widows of the Old West End as they downsized from their mansions.  The Park Lane Hotel offered 187 rooms in 114 suites.  Valet and maid services were provided and residents could enjoy an opulent ballroom which could accommodate 200 people.  The hotel was sold in 1948 and purchased by Sam Davis.  Mr Davis renovated the lower levels of the building in a colonial style.

In 1953, the hotel was transitioned into a partly transient residential hotel.  During this time, many stars and celebrities enjoyed the sophistication and elegance of The Park Lane.  Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, Bob Hope, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Goodman, Eleanor Roosevelt, Sonja Henie and others would stay here while in the area.

Although still very popular, The Park Lane closed its doors suddenly in 1970.  The closure of the property seemed to ignite a marked decline in the Old West End.  The building remained vacant until the 1980's when it was purchased and converted into a senior housing community after an 8 million dollar renovation and improvement project.  

The Park Lane was purchased by its current owner in November 2011 and is being re-positioned as a luxury boutique apartment community. Currently, we are nearing completion of a massive renovation and restoration project that includes an all new and expanded parking lot, renovated lobby, renovated apartments, and so much more!
